If you’ve lost an item (either baggage or a personal item) with Allegiant Air, here's what you can expect in terms of recovery time and process:
🧳 1. Filing Your Report
Check at the airport, ideally within 4 hours of your flight’s arrival, to file a Mishandled Baggage Report if it involves stolen/damaged bags. Likewise, report any lost personal items on the plane or in the terminal as soon as possible
If you missed reporting at the airport, use Allegiant’s online Lost & Found form. The platform is managed through a third-party service called Chargerback, which will send you an email with a tracking number confirming your submission.
2. How Long Until You Get Answers or Items Back
For Checked Baggage:
Most delayed bags are found and returned within 24–48 hours, depending on flight routing.
If your bag isn’t returned within these thresholds (e.g., > 12 hours on domestic), Allegiant will refund your checked bag fee within 7 business days (if paid by credit card) or 20 calendar days (for other methods).
For Lost Items (Non-baggage):
Allegiant retains found items for a minimum of 30 days. If the item isn’t retrieved in that time, it may be released to airport authorities or surplus property.
