Are Airport responsible for lost items?
-
Yes — Columbus John Glenn International Airport (CMH), operated by the Columbus Regional Airport Authority (CRAA), is responsible for items found within the airport terminal:
Any item found in public areas or at security checkpoints is turned over to the CMH Lost & Found department. They log it, store it for 90 days, and attempt to contact the owner
However, not all lost items fall under airport responsibility:
Things lost on aircraft (e.g., in flight, in overhead bins) are handled by your airline — contact their baggage service desk.
