Are Airport responsible for lost items?

At George Enescu International Airport (Bacău Airport), the airport operator itself does not directly handle lost and found. Instead, responsibility for lost or delayed items—both luggage and personal belongings—falls on the airline or the handling company working with that airline.

How long will George Enescu Airport keep found items?

  • George Enescu International Airport (Bacău) in Romania does not publicly publish a specific policy for how long they retain lost items (such as personal belongings forgotten at security, gates, or in terminals). However, there are a couple of guidelines we can use to infer typical practices: For checked baggage, which is handled by the airlines directly: if it's unclaimed within one month from the date it was delivered to the destination, the airline may dispose of it at its discretion without liability. For lost personal items (non‑baggage): the airport website suggests contacting the airline or the appropriate Lost & Found office of the airline/handling company—but doesn’t state a retention timeframe.
